Free KYB check — registers and sanctions lists, for Czech companies
KYB — Know Your Business — is checking a corporate client or partner. For Czech companies, the free lustration does the part the public registers and sanctions lists can answer, with the source on every value.

We check the company against the Czech public registers and compare the company itself with the sanctions lists. You see every source answer — including the ones that will not. The people in its bodies are counted, not screened; screening them is part of the paid lustration. None of this is a compliance decision.
Usually two to four minutes. Nothing here is ticked until it has happened.
Monivero does not read the Czech register of beneficial owners (UBO): the Ministry of Justice closed it to the public on 17 December 2025. Monivero does not make the compliance decision; nothing in the check is an approval, a refusal or a recommendation.
What the free check reads
- ARES — the base record, the registered seat, and how many subjects share that address
- The public register — how many members the statutory body has, and registered capital
- or.justice.cz — a link to the official extract and the collection of deeds (whether accounts are filed)
- ISIR — the insolvency register
- The VAT payer register — unreliable payer status
- The trade licence register
- Sanctions lists — the EU, UN, UK and US lists and the Czech national list, for the company itself
What the free check does not do
- It does not read beneficial owners (UBO) — the Czech register is not open to the public.
- It compares nobody in the company’s bodies with any list and does not show their names, and it does not look for politically exposed persons (PEP). Both are part of the paid lustration. It does not read media.
- The company is compared with the companies, bodies and vessels on the lists, not with the individuals on them.
- It shows no risk score, and approves or refuses nothing.
- A name that resembles an entry on a list is a candidate, not an identification — a person has to review it.
- It covers Czech companies and Czech registers only.
Questions
- Is it really free?
- Yes — no account and no card. The number of free checks a day is limited. It covers companies: when the register shows that an IČO belongs to a natural person — a sole trader, for example — the check stops before anyone is compared with a sanctions list.
- Which sources does it use?
- The Czech state registers (ARES, the public register, ISIR, the VAT payer register, the trade licence register) and publicly published sanctions lists. Every value carries its source and the time it was read.
- Is this a complete KYB or AML check?
- No. It is the part that the public registers and lists can answer. Customer due diligence under AML law is carried out by the obliged entity itself; the check gives it sourced material but does not carry out the duty for it.
- Do you store what I looked up?
- Yes, in two ways. The check itself — the company number and what the registers and lists answered about the company — is stored on our side and deleted after 365 days. We do not store the names, dates of birth or addresses of the people in the company’s bodies; from the register we keep only how many there are. Separately, for seven days we keep the company number together with a keyed hash of your IP address, so that the free check cannot be flooded from one address. We do not store the IP address itself. The privacy notice has the detail.
